Street planning and construction
The basic prerequisites of urban life are created and maintained through public construction. These construction projects are often the result of cooperation between many parties.
The City of Kerava’s infrastructure services are responsible for the planning and construction of streets and pedestrian and bicycle lanes and related official duties. Street plans are drawn up either by the city or outsourced from consultants. Street construction is carried out by the city and by outsourced contractors. The fleet of vehicles and machinery fleet and their operators are hired.
Street plans are made available for public viewing already at the draft stage, often at the same time as the draft detailed plan, and after the actual street plans are completed. Street plans on display can be found on the city’s website. Street plans are confirmed by the Urban Engineering Committee.
In addition to street planning, the city is responsible for the planning of water supply and specialised structures, such as bridges and retaining walls.
