Planning and construction of green spaces
Every year, the city builds new park and green spaces and renovates and improves existing playgrounds, dog parks, sports facilities and parks. A park or green space plan is drawn up for large-scale projects in accordance with the annual investment plan and implemented within the limits of the budget approved on the basis of the investment plan.
Planning throughout the year, building from spring to autumn
According to the annual calendar in green building, autumn is spent on planning and budgeting next year’s projects and after the budget negotiations end, the first projects of the spring are planned over the winter. The first contracts are put out to tender in early spring to allow work to begin as soon as the frost melts. Planning continues throughout the year, and contracts are put out to tender and built in the summer and autumn until the ground freezes.
Plantings in street areas are designed as part of street plans that also take into account plantings on the edges of streets as well as green areas in the median strip. Plantings are designed to be suitable for the area and location and safe from the point of view of traffic.
