Immigrants
Kerava’s employment services have experts specialised in the needs of jobseekers with immigrant backgrounds.
As an immigrant or foreign-language-speaking jobseeker living in Kerava or Sipoo, you can get help and support for finding employment. We will analyse your situation, skills and goals together and support you on your path to employment. If your integration period is still ongoing, we will create an integration plan for you together. In it, we will establish ways to increase your language skills and expertise and make a plan for finding employment.

The purpose of competency mapping is to assess your Finnish skills, mathematical skills and digital skills. The results of competency mapping help us find the right training for you.
The mapping includes exercises that measure Finnish language skills in different areas (speaking, writing, listening comprehension and reading comprehension), mathematical skills (such as basic calculations and equations) and the ability to navigate a digital environment. If necessary, we can get a telephone interpreter to help with the mapping.

The purpose of integration training is to improve your Finnish/Swedish language skills and other skills that enable you to find a job or access further education. Integration training also increases your understanding of the customs of Finnish society and helps build various everyday skills.
Integration training consists of the following areas:
- language and communication skills
- skills for navigating the society and working life
- student guidance and learning support.
Integration training is part of the integration process. Integration training is intended for persons whose integration period is ongoing and whose integration plan includes integration training.
