Support for growth and learning in preschool
Children in preschool are given support for growth and learning in accordance with the Basic Education Act. By law, children have the right to receive adequate support as soon as the need for support arises.
The three levels of support for a child’s growth and learning are general, enhanced and special support. Forms of support listed in the Basic Education Act include part-time special education, interpretation and assistant services and special assistive devices, among others. They can be used at all levels of support either alone or to complement other forms of support.
